Your wedding day is one of the most important days in your life, lets add a little sparkle and make you feel like you but the most perfect, beautiful version.

As an experienced wedding makeup artist, there are a few things to consider when planning your makeup trial consultation, to create your look for the day.

Things to think about

Consider booking your trial around 2 to 3 months before the big day, by this point finer details that can be helpful when designing the makeup will more or less be finalised. For example; style of your dress, colour schemes, bridesmaids dresses, flowers, hair styling and also whether you plan to wear any form of tanning products or are about to embark on a sun bed routine. If you are considering a spray tan, it may be easier for you so have a practise run a day or so before your actual trial so you can see a more finalised look. However on the day I will have my full kit an so any alterations to skin tone from the trial can be amended. All of this can play a part in contributing to creating the perfect makeup that suits you and also your wedding theme.

Makeup Trials

Trials take place at my home studio on the outskirts of Cardiff. You are more than welcome to bring a Pinterest board or inspirational pictures of makeup that you like, so I can get a visual of your makeup preferences. We'll have a consultation, about your normal makeup routine, and the details of the wedding and together we create the perfect look for your special day, that will blend all the factors together so you feel your uttermost beautiful. At your trial once the final look is complete, we will run through the timings of the morning, and whilst I’ll ensure your makeup will stay in place all day, I can also advise any touch up items that might be worth adding to your bridal bag.

 

considerations for the big day

Logistics and timings can also be discussed at your trial, for example what time do you need to be ready by? And whether you are planning any staged shots with your bridal party before you leave the home. How far is the venue from your location? How is your dress fastened? When you have dress fittings the stylist will be used to dressing brides and so will be much faster than your friend or family member who will assist you in getting ready. 

Other considerations include whether you are having a mobile hair dresser who will also be styling hair whilst makeup is also taken place. These details can be discussed at the trial or before the big day so when it comes to the wedding we have plenty of time to ensure you have a stress free smooth running. I regularly work with many suppliers within the wedding trade, so would be more than happy to recommend photographers, hair stylists florists etc
