Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation has earned a well-deserved reputation as a staple in many makeup lovers' collections. As a working makeup artist, I have had the pleasure of using this foundation on numerous clients with various skin types and concerns. L’Oréal Fresh Wear Infallible Foundation

L'Oreal’s Infallible Foundation, for a high street brand I have to say that I am highly impressed with its performance. It’s one of my personal favourites and also a product I use regularly in combination with other foundations to share its key benefits. This foundation truly lives up to its name and delivers long-lasting, flawless coverage that lasts throughout the day.

Coverage and Finish:

One of the main aspect that I really appreciate about this foundation is its lightweight formula. It feels incredibly comfortable on the skin and doesn't feel heavy or cakey. Despite its light texture, it still provides excellent coverage to even out any skin tone without looking too heavy or overly done. It also provides a more satin finish to the skin, so much fresher in terms of finish in-comparison to the other foundations I’ve reviewed. 

Longevity: 

It’s ‘32hr wear’ claim doesn’t disappoint! It stays in place really well, even on my oily skin type, making it perfect for all-day wear. As it tip, it’s one of my favourite products to use under the eyes instead of concealer, if you prefer a lightweight formulation, which will provide a crease proof brightening effect under the eyes, without needing to set with powder.

Shade Range:

Additionally, the shade range offered by L'Oreal is quite impressive. There is a wide variety of shades available, catering to different skin tones and undertones. This ensures that everyone can find a perfect match for their complexion, ultimately achieving a seamless and natural-looking finish.

Overall, the L'Oreal Infallible Foundation has become a staple in my makeup kit, to use on its own, or to mix to sheer out, or create a fresher finish when using Double Wear or Fix Fluid. Its long-lasting power, lightweight feel, and satin finish make it also perfect for a more mature skin, and its extensive shade range, and practical packaging make it a top choice for anyone looking for a reliable and high-performing foundation at a budget price. I highly recommend giving it a try!

MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation

MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation is a holy grail product and firm staple amongst makeup artists and enthusiasts. It offers a buildable coverage, from natural medium coverage to a more flawless photo perfect full coverage. It provides great longevity, and has an inclusive shade range, it has become a favourite among makeup enthusiasts and professionals alike. The buildable and lightweight formula ensures a seamless application and a comfortable feel on the skin. If you're in search of a foundation that delivers impeccable results, I highly recommend trying out MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation.

Whilst I’d say that Estée Lauder Double Wear excels in longevity, MAC Studio Fix Fluid is a close second. With the correct prep suitable for the clients personal skincare it maintains a flawless finish all day long. In my experience this foundation stays put without oxidizing or melting away.

MAC is renowned for its inclusive shade range, and the Studio Fix Fluid Foundation is no exception. With a diverse selection of shades, it caters to a wide range of skin tones and undertones. You can find the perfect match for every client, ensuring a seamless and natural-looking finish.

NARS Light Reflecting Foundation

For a light, fresh finish, and natural complexion NARS Light Reflecting Foundation meets the expectations. This foundation truly provides a radiant, flawless complexion that leaves you feeling like a glowing goddess.

Coverage and Finish:

This foundation provides a much more lightweight coverage, that can be adapted from sheer to around a medium coverage. One main feature of this foundation is its ability to give the skin a natural luminosity. Its light-reflecting properties that create an ethereal glow providing a soft-focus effect that blurs imperfections. If your skin type is a little more on the dehydrated side, then this foundation would be perfect for you as it’s nourishing formulation, and will provide all day long hydration. 

Longevity:

With this formulation skin prep is key for longevity, if you have an oily skin type I’d suggest adding an oil control primer and setting the base with a touch of powder to set it the key t zone areas. A drier skin type tends to hold makeup much more effectively so, you can amplify the foundation with an illuminating or hydrating primer, or skip this step and just prep with your moisturiser. The foundation blends into the skin, and can easily adapt to your desired finish and coverage.

In conclusion, Nars Light Reflecting Foundation combines a radiant, luminous finish with a weightless feel, making it a must-have for anyone looking to achieve a flawless dewy fresh complexion.

MAC Studio Fix Powder

MAC Studio Fix Powder is a versatile option that provides buildable coverage, sets foundation, and controls shine for a matte finish. It’s actually a foundation so you can use it either on its own for a ‘quick fix’ base or use it to boost the coverage of any other foundation. It’s also a recommended touch up item for my clients, particularly as it features compact packaging complete with a secret compartment with a separate sponge so perfect for touching up on the go. I live it’s velvet matte finish so a great addition to a makeup bag if you tend to have a more oily skin type, and want to keep shine at bay.

Hourglass Ambient Light and Strobe Powders

Hourglass Powders are a hybrid between a regular face powder and a highlighting powder, delivering unbelievable radiant glow. These contain multidimensional, pearlescent pigments that refine the skin texture and are perfect for highlighting and enhancing the natural features, adding dimension to the makeup look. These are my go to, for creating that fresh glowing skin, whilst cream textures can come short for longevity, these powders deliver that same radiant finish but last the day.

These powders are some of my favourites from my kit, which on their own or combined for a bespoke finish fitting my clients preferences, helps to achieve a polished, professional appearance that withstands the demands of the day or event, leaving clients feeling confident and beautiful.

MAC Mineralize Powder 

MAC Mineralize Powder, on the other hand, is ideal for adding a subtle radiant glow, with low level pearlescent pigments it has the ability to blurring imperfections, and create a natural finish to the skin. You can build up the coverage and colour, and use them for multiple purposes. I love to use the lighter shades to set and brighten around the eye area, and centre of the face, whilst shades like Medium Tan, Dark and Dark Tan create warmth around the skin, leaving it glowing and sun kissed.

Too Faced Sun Bunny Bronzer

A medium depth warm bronzer split with two shades and a satin finish. I love this bronzer if you want to add warmth create a dewy glow, but the colour split means the shade is completely adaptable, one of my personal faves!

NARS Laguna

A demi matte bronzer with neutral undertones. Great bronzer for someone looking for a product to contour with as well as bronze and has a natural finish.

Too Faced Born This Way Natural Nudes Palette

This a go-to choice for me as it provides a versatile selection of warm, neutral shades that can be used for everything from natural everyday looks to smoky and dramatic effects. It’s a smaller palette so easy for travel or for your personal makeup bag. But it’s well considered choice of colours and textures means it’s a permanent staple in my kit.

Morphe 35XO Palette

For bridal looks this is one of favourite palettes, providing a wide range of soft and romantic hues ideal for creating soft blush, rose and nude soft glam bridal looks.

Morphe Divine Neutrals Palette

This is another valuable addition to any artist's kit, featuring a mix of warm chocolate, peach, rust and tan brown shades in both matte and shimmer textures that effortlessly blend and transition for seamless eye creations. This is a palette I have re purchased serval times, and particularly love the warm matte shades for soft glam and Smokey looks.

BPerfect Carnival Palettes

In addition to all the neutrals, it is essential for a makeup artist to have a rainbow palette just incase a touch of colour is needed! The BPerfect Carnival palettes, offers an extensive range of vibrant and bold colors. These vivid palettes allows artists to explore their creativity and create unique, eye-catching looks, making it a useful tool for editorial shoots, fashion shows, or clients who seek a more colourful makeup style.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze and Brow Powders are go-to products for achieving perfectly sculpted brows. It provides a long-lasting hold for all-day, and features regularly in my clients makeups.

Anastasia Beverly hills Brow Powders

Brow Powders from Anastasia Beverly Hills blend well over Brow Freeze and the  offer a range of shades to cater to different hair colors, allowing you to fill in sparse areas and create a soft, natural-looking brow shape. Powders are also a excellent product to use if you want to ombré and fade out the front of a brow to create a softer look.
